CMT Logistics Couriers India
Since its inception in May 1989, it has established itself as a significant player in the shipping sector in India. When the Shipping Corporation of India Ltd. (SCI) reintroduced its direct cellular service from India, the Indian Subcontinent, and Sri Lanka to the UK, Northern Europe, and Scandinavia in 1994, it was appointed marketing agent for SCI.
Through partnerships, joint ventures, and slot-sharing arrangements, SCI has participated in various services over the years, including routes to the Mediterranean, the Far East, China, and Yangon. It has been given the sole authority to promote SCI’s container shipping services in India’s western and northern regions. The company handles both export-import (EXIM) and coastal cargo, managing an annual throughput of approximately 100,000 TEUs.
Notably, SCI has only been in the coastal shipping business for the past five years, and since then, it has quickly become the second-largest operator. SCI is represented in these areas by Container Movement Transport, which primarily operates out of gateway ports like Nhava Sheva and Mundra and extends its services to smaller ports like Kandla, Pipavav, Hazira, Mangalore, and Goa through offices and staff.
It manages bookings, issues Bills of Lading, and oversees shipping activities from key city offices. Locations include Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Ludhiana, Jaipur, Indore, Pune, Nagpur, and Kanpur. SCI excels in container shipping, especially in European trade, due to extensive industry knowledge. The broad organization and experienced staff ensure efficient, comprehensive support for all clients. This solidifies its reputation in the competitive shipping industry with reliable, expert service.
